  1:1 Noai, saying,

  1:2 Arise, go to Nihat great city, and cry against it; for their wiess ise up before me.

  1:3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and he LORD.

  1:4 But the LORD sent out a great o be broken.

  1:5 Then the marinersasleep.

  1:6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meahou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God .

  1:7 And they said every oo his fello fell upon Jonah.

  1:8 Then said they unto him, Tell us, hou?

  1:9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrehe dry land.

  1:10 Then hem.

  1:11 Then said they unto him, What shall uous.

  1:12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I kno is upon you.

  1:14 Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, hee.

  1:15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

  1:16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifito the LORD, and made vows.

  2:1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish"s belly,

  2:2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affli unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

  2:3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floodspassed me about: all thy billohy waves passed over me.

  2:4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I emple.

  2:5 Themy head.

  2:6 I ion, O LORD my God.

  2:7 When my soul fainted emple.

  2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

  2:9 But I he LORD.

  2:10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

  3:1 And the ime, saying,

  3:2 Arise, go unto Nihat great city, and preato it the preag that I bid thee.

  3:3 So Jonah arose, and hree days" journey.

  3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day"s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

  3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

  3:6 Forin ashes.

  3:7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let her man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink er:

  3:8 But let man a be covered heir hands.

  3:9 Whotell if God ?

  3:10 And God sa.

  4:1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.

  4:2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, he evil.

  4:3 Therefore noo live.

  4:4 Then said the LORD, Doest thou o be angry?

  4:5 So Jonah y.

  4:6 And the Lod prepared a gourd, and made it toe up over Jonah, that it might be a shadohe gourd.

  4:7 But God prepared a hered.

  4:8 And it came to pass, o live.

  4:9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou h.

  4:10 Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the :

  4:11 And should not I spare Nihat great city, le?
